Frog in the Throat Fish in the Mouth

This is my first mixed media piece, done with both my media – watercolor and colored pencil. I was sitting doing a plein aire watercolor by the shore at Fairchild Gardens in Miami, Florida. This egret was foraging all around me, completely unconcerned by my presence. Every now and then I would stop and take a picture of him. This was my favorite action shot. Framed in natural wood.
